3. Steps to Participate in the D2-6 Program

In addition to the necessary documents for the student exchange program, the process differs slightly from other study abroad programs. Let’s explore the steps with HVC!

Phase 1:

  • Attend a college or university in Vietnam that has partnerships with Korean universities.

Note: You must study at least one semester in Vietnam (about 6 months).

  • During your studies in Vietnam, you will be trained in Korean to achieve TOPIK level 2.

Phase 2:

  • Choose a major based on your future career orientation.
  • Depending on the field of study, the training duration may vary (approximately 2-3 years).

Phase 3:

  • Register for the student exchange program at your current university in Vietnam.
  • After completing the registration procedures, you will be issued a D2-6 Visa to study in South Korea.

Phase 4:

  • During your studies in Korea, you can work part-time to earn additional income.
  • After graduation, you can choose to return to Vietnam or stay in Korea to work (you may transition to D10, E9, or E7 visas).
