To apply for a long-term work visa abroad, interns need to prepare the following documents:
- Passport (If you don’t have a passport, you can obtain one at the immigration office for a fee of 200,000 VND/person).
- Visa application form
- Photo (4.5 x 4.5 cm, a recent photo taken within the last 3 months)
- Certificate of residence status (Original + Copy)
- Original employment contract
- Recruitment notice
- Internship acceptance letter (if applicable)
Additionally, the Japanese embassy may request other documents depending on the specific case. If you do not bring the required documents or refuse to provide information, your application will not be accepted or may result in delays in receiving your visa.

Working Hours of the Embassy
The Japanese Embassy operates from Monday to Friday and is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays. Applications are accepted in the morning, and results are provided in the afternoon.
Specific Working Hours:
- Morning: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Afternoon: 1:30 PM – 4:45 PM
Visa Collection Time
After your application is accepted by the Japanese Embassy and meets all requirements, you can collect your visa after one week (including holidays).
Note: Visa collection is available in the afternoon on working days from Monday to Friday.
Visa Application Fee
The cost for a work visa is set by the embassy at 1,300,000 VND. This fee is based on the currency denomination of VND and not converted into Japanese Yen.
